This stop-motion film was created using both traditional and digital mediums (paper puppets, charcoal, Photoshop, and After Effects). The whole project blossomed from a solitary clip (seen below), going from a 15 second video of a welder trying to hold a robot's arm to a two minute video following the budding romance between a welder and a security guard. When I first created the welder clip, I was not making it with the idea that it would become a larger film. However, as I was working on it, the question of its overarching storyline began to nag at me. Who was this welder? Why was he so lonely that he was trying to hold a robot's hand? In a way, I created this whole video backwards. Hence the industrial feel of the whole video; creating love in a place where one assumes there is only metal scraps.
The following are snippets from the full film- just a few that I felt deserved their own spotlight.
