I was commissioned to illustrate a poster for a student film. The film follows three priests nearing the end of their life, reflecting on their past choices and time at the church. I was given free reign on this project to create something that would appeal to a young gay audience, with the only visual criteria being that I represent the priest in his holy garb.

The final poster, seen above, which was used for several film festivals and promotional materials.

Some alternative variations that didn't quite make the final cut.

After the poster was given the green light, I was also asked to create a thumbnail version of it for alternative sites such as Youtube. I did away with the repetition of the priest's face and the colorful triangular background; although visually interesting, they made for a thumbnail that was simply too busy. Instead, I placed the emphasis on the singular face and the title text, bringing in several background elements to keep the look in the same ballpark but not overwhelming the viewer.
